NurseWatch is a premium and professional aged-care-at-home service provider, based in Sydney and is a strong advocate for equal rights and has always been driven to provide a service that is committed to inclusivity and diversity.

“NurseWatch is an ISO accredited and Rainbow Tick accredited organisation that practises quality inclusive care in everything we do. We are very proud of the people and organisations we associate with.” – Kate, CEO

Diversity

NurseWatch provides LGBTIQ concierge services to support the LGBTIQ community. This sets NurseWatch apart from the rest of the aged-care market as there has been no other aged-care company that has made a specific effort to serve and support this community by providing a safe space for them in their golden age.

NurseWatch gained the Rainbow Tick Accreditation in 2020, reassuring LGBTIQ customers and staff they will be cared for by an organisation which is aware, responsive, and understanding of their needs. At the time when it was awarded this accreditation, NurseWatch was one of only 39 other organisations in Australia, the second in Sydney and the only privately-owned company in NSW to have achieved this national benchmark of inclusive care.

Equity

Equity in a healthcare workplace is a fundamental principle that underpins the provision of quality care to all individuals, regardless of their background, identity, or socioeconomic status. In such an environment, healthcare professionals are committed to treating every patient with the same level of respect, dignity, and compassion. This commitment to equality extends beyond patient care and encompasses the entire workforce. It means ensuring that all employees have equal opportunities for professional growth and advancement, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, or any other characteristic.

An inclusive healthcare workplace values diversity and recognizes that it brings a wealth of perspectives and experiences, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes. By fostering a culture of equity, healthcare institutions not only fulfill their ethical duty but also create a more harmonious and effective healthcare system for all.

Inclusion

Inclusion is crucial to growing and sustaining NurseWatch, all businesses, and our workforce. It creates happier employees who will offer the best level of care possible. When everyone feels included, morale goes up, and output increases. Diversity is nothing without an inclusive workplace culture and we celebrate and recognise the uniqueness of every one of our team, colleagues, and clients every day.

We have the systems and processes in place to provide inclusive service delivery, and that we are responsive and understanding of the needs of everyone we come in contact with.

The Rainbow Tick

Preparation for the Rainbow Tick

Prior to receiving the Rainbow Tick, NurseWatch carried out a substantial amount of work to prepare for this accreditation. Systems and activities were set up and these are all now well integrated. Staff and contractors have been trained and they have a thorough understanding of the specific issues and needs of the LGBTI community.

Of note are the following strengths of the NurseWatch organisation:

  • The provision of a welcoming, safe and healthy workplace for all staff and contractors including acknowledging diversity, and activities and initiates to promote inclusion.
  • A suite of policies and procedures has been developed with the safety and inclusion of the LGBTI community in mind.
  • The organisation is committed to keeping abreast of current trends in the field of LGBTI inclusive service provision.
  • The organisation has the ability to network and partner with relevant entities.
  • The organisation is an ACON (AIDS Council of Australia) Foundation Members of Pride In Health+Wellbeing.
